Coachella Dates: The 2027 Weekends, the 2026 Recap and Where to Stay

Coachella 2027 runs over two weekends, April 9 to 11 and April 16 to 18, at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. The 2026 festival ran April 10 to 12 and April 17 to 19 at the same grounds. Who played Coachella 2026?

Coachella 2026 was the festival's 25th edition. Sabrina Carpenter headlined Friday, Justin Bieber took Saturday and Karol G closed Sunday, becoming the first Latina artist to headline Coachella. The festival sold out within a week of the lineup announcement in September 2025, and most sets streamed live on YouTube for everyone stuck at home refreshing the group chat.

Weekend 1 also got a rare dose of desert drama. Severe weather canceled at least one first-weekend set. Pack a poncho, just in case.

Coachella 2027 lineup and tickets

The 2027 lineup isn't out yet. As of mid-October 2026, there are only rumors. The 2026 poster dropped in September 2025, after years of January announcements, so watch for news through the fall and winter. Ignore any "leaked" poster that isn't on Coachella's official channels.

Advance passes for 2027 went on sale May 1, 2026, through the official Coachella site. Pricing is tiered, so the price climbs as each tier sells out, and there's a payment plan. Buy only from the official site or its official resale channel. Wristbands from random sellers are how weekends get ruined.

Book your room before you have the wristband in hand. April is the most competitive stretch of the year in the desert, and the good places fill early.

What is the Coachella stage like?

The festival takes over a huge polo field in Indio, flat green grass ringed with tall palm trees, with the mountains of the Coachella Valley behind the stages. That palm-trees-and-desert view is the one you've seen in every photo. Afternoons can be hot and nights cool off fast, so dress for both.

One more naming note, because it confuses people: Coachella is also a city. The festival is in Indio, right next door to the city of Coachella, and both sit in the Coachella Valley along with Palm Springs.

Where to stay for Coachella: a Palm Springs base

Staying in Palm Springs gets you restaurants, pools and a real bed, with Indio a drive away. The Muse is minutes from downtown Palm Springs and Palm Springs International Airport.

Things to do in Palm Springs between Coachella weekends

• Theme nights at home. On a buyout, plan your own: boots-and-fringe night, all-white night, glitter night. Book Glam Squad Services for hair and makeup before you leave the property, and add the Mobile Bar With a Twist to keep the party going back at the hotel.

• A pool recovery day. Floats, sunscreen, long naps. Repeat as needed.

• Gardens and cactus. Moorten Botanical Garden is an easy morning stop before the drive east.

• Ride the Aerial Tramway. It climbs into the San Jacinto Mountains, where the air is much cooler.
