Pink Hotel Palm Springs: The Muse, From the Awning to the Barbie Suite

Yes, there's a pink hotel in Palm Springs, and it's The Muse: pink walls out front, a black-and-white striped awning, a neon sign, coral walls around the courtyard pool and a Barbie Suite with a pink feather chandelier. It's an adults-only boutique hotel with nine suites, minutes from downtown by car. Here's where the pink lives, how to photograph it and how to make a whole weekend match.

Why is Palm Springs so pink?

Palm Springs has always loved color. Mid-century architects painted doors, walls and trim in bright shades that pop against the brown mountains and blue sky. Then there's the light: on a clear evening the San Jacinto Mountains glow pink at sunset, and the whole town looks like it's been filtered.

So a pink hotel here isn't a gimmick. It's local tradition with better throw pillows.

Where is the pink at The Muse?

Pretty much everywhere you point a camera.

  • The front of the building. Pink walls, the striped awning, palm trees and mountains in the background. This is the arrival photo.

  • The courtyard. Coral walls around the pool, white scalloped umbrellas and pink flamingo floats in turquoise water.

  • The Barbie Suite. White bed, pink walls and a pink feather chandelier. You knew this one was coming.

  • The Marilyn Suite. A pink wall behind a round white dining table, plus navy floral wallpaper in the bedroom.

  • The Brigitte and Taylor kitchens. Magenta cabinets in Brigitte, a pink wall with navy cabinets in Taylor.

How do you get the best pink hotel photos?

Go early or go golden. Morning light is soft on the front of the building, and late afternoon makes the courtyard glow. Midday desert sun is harsh and turns pink into salmon.

Wear one strong color. White, black, yellow or a bright green looks great against pink. Head-to-toe pink disappears into the wall, which is a choice. And bring a float. The flamingo is the easiest prop you'll ever own.

Can you throw a pink party at The Muse?

Absolutely. On a full buyout you get all nine suites and nine bathrooms for up to 22 overnight guests, plus the pool, the six-person hot tub, the outdoor fireplace and the pergola swings. Music is welcome at reasonable volumes until 10PM.

Add a room makeover for balloons and décor in the bride's or birthday girl's suite, glam squad services for hair and makeup, and a bartender package with up to three cocktail selections on buyouts (alcohol purchased separately). Pink drinks are strongly encouraged. Planning a bachelorette? Start with our Palm Springs bachelorette party page.

Where else can you find pink in Palm Springs?

Drive Palm Canyon Drive and you'll see it on doors, signs and storefronts. The Uptown Design District on North Palm Canyon is full of mid-century décor shops where pink lamps and pink barware are basically a category. If you visit during Modernism Week, February 11 to 21, 2027, the home tours are a crash course in desert color. Our vintage shops guide has the shopping list.

Then get back to the courtyard before sunset. The mountains turn rosy, the neon sign comes on, and the pink walls do the rest. That's the photo that ends up framed in somebody's hallway.
