• The Shag Store. The artist's retro cocktail-party prints are basically Palm Springs in a frame. Easy gift, easier carry-on.

• The Frippery. A Palm Springs vintage label that sells online, with mod, resort and bohemian pieces and plenty of caftans. Shop before you pack and arrive pool-ready.

The Palm Springs Vintage Market is the big monthly treasure hunt: dozens of dealers with furniture, barware, clothing, records and art. It runs 7AM to 2PM at 356 N. Calle Encilia, usually on the first Sunday of the month from fall through spring.
