A Palm Springs Hotel for a Group Getaway, With Nobody Else Invited

The best Palm Springs hotel for a group getaway is one your group can have to itself. At The Muse, a full hotel buyout for your group getaway gives you all nine suites, nine bathrooms and room for up to 22 overnight guests, plus the courtyard pool and the six-person hot tub with nobody else around. Smaller crews can book a few suites around the same pool instead.

What makes a hotel good for a group getaway?

Big groups don't need a lobby the size of an airport terminal. They need enough bathrooms, one good place to gather, and no strangers in the background of every photo. Here's how that plays out at The Muse.

  • A bathroom for every suite. Nine suites, nine bathrooms. The morning shower schedule is no longer a group project.

  • One place to gather. The courtyard pool, the hot tub, an outdoor fireplace, pergola swings, a BBQ grill and a lobby with a large table and booth seating.

  • Kitchens where you want them. Brigitte, Audrey, Marilyn and Taylor are king suites with full kitchens and private fenced yards. Most of the other suites have kitchens too.

  • The basics, included. Grab-and-go breakfast from Aspen Mills, parking and Wi-Fi.

  • Close to everything. Downtown Palm Springs and the airport are both minutes away by car.

How many people can stay at The Muse?

Up to 22 overnight guests on a full buyout, across 10 beds and two rollaways. Every overnight guest counts toward the 22, including the friend who swears she'll just take the couch.

There's no bar minimum and no required event package. Music is welcome at reasonable volumes until 10PM, which means the playlist moves to the hot tub at a respectable hour and the stories keep going.

Who sleeps where?

Room assignments are the first real test of any group chat. A few shortcuts:

  • Couples: the four king suites with private yards. Coffee happens outside in a robe.

  • Roommates: Kate has two queens, so two friends get their own beds.

  • The organizer: Bowie is the largest suite, with a separate bedroom. She earned it.

  • A pair of couples or a small pod: the Duo Suite books Edie and Bowie together, with two bedrooms that sleep up to 5 with an optional rollaway.

Have everyone vote on the suite pages before arrival. It saves twenty minutes of standing in the courtyard with suitcases.

What does a group weekend at The Muse look like?

  • Friday afternoon: Staggered arrivals, a welcome drink by the pool, and the hot tub before sunset. Have the fridge stocked before anyone lands so nobody makes a grocery run in a swimsuit.

  • Friday night: Dinner downtown on Palm Canyon Drive, then the outdoor fireplace.

  • Saturday morning: Private yoga at The Muse in the courtyard, $150 for the whole group with three days' notice. Or an early hike before the heat.

  • Saturday afternoon: The main pool session. Buyout groups can add the bartender package: three hours with ice, drinkware and up to three cocktail selections. Alcohol is purchased separately.

  • Saturday night: A private hibachi dinner at the hotel, so nobody has to coordinate eight rideshares.

  • Sunday: Breakfast from Aspen Mills, one last swim and the group photo.

Which extras make a group trip feel special?

The upgrades that matter for a group are the ones that save everyone a trip somewhere. In-room massages run 60 or 90 minutes per person and book at least 48 hours ahead. Glam squad, a photographer, a mobile bar and bike rentals can all come to you. Buyout groups can also book Party on Wheels for the ride downtown. See every option in Muse Experiences.

When should a group book Palm Springs?

October through May is the classic season, with warm days and cool nights. Spring weekends and festival dates go first, so book those early. Summer afternoons often top 100 degrees, which makes for quieter weekends, long pool days and easy dinner reservations.
