As the long, blistering summer days stretch toward their warmer, gentler conclusion, there's enchantment in knowing precisely where to spend them. For us, that venue is EIGHT4NINE Restaurant & Lounge Palm Springs.
In the heart of Palm Springs' Uptown Design District, this neighborhood landmark embodies just the energy we're seeking come Labor Day. Outside, streamlined design, some sort of living thing to sip on, and that kind of light that shines on everything it hits and makes it improved.
Their enormous patio is still one of the biggest and chicest in town, a good spot to grasp warm nights as they are ending. Parasols create brush-stroke shadows against white linen tables here, and the wind comes on schedule. It's not merely a restaurant table, it's a moment between seasons.

This time of year, we’re drawn to dishes that feel as fresh as the mood. The Watermelon Gazpacho is bright and cooling, the kind of thing that tastes like a farewell toast to summer. Pair it with their signature Prickly Pear cocktail, a drink that manages to bottle up desert color and vacation ease all at once.
And then, of course, there's the Smoked Niçoise Salad—refined, stacked, and well composed. A dish that says a lot about the restaurant itself. Clever, thoughtful, and chic in that understated way that haunts.

Within, the crisp gallery-like interior provides space for discussion and food to become the stars. The lounge, its warm onyx bar the center of attention, beckons you to stay late. It's the ideal in-between place where day and night converge and summer turns softer.
As we introduce the first whispers of autumn, EIGHT4NINE reminds us to love the now. To linger a bit longer. To allow the change of seasons to happen softly, lovely, and with depth.
It's what makes it a genuine Muse choice and a restaurant we will frequent year-round.
