For Pride Month, we’re spotlighting a creative whose work feels like pure joy in visual form. Meet Andrew Kuttler — a California-based photographer and creative director whose use of color, nostalgia, and personality caught our eye and won our hearts. From brand campaigns with Apple and Pixar to spontaneous 4 a.m. drives through the desert, Andrew brings energy, emotion, and a bit of pop magic to everything he does.
In this Q&A, he shares his creative journey, the icons that inspire him, and the themed hotel room of our dreams.
Can you tell us a bit about yourself, your career and what inspires you?
Hi! I’m Andrew – a photographer and creative director based in California, though I grew up in the Midwest. When I was little, my grandparents used to tell me, “Go west.” I think they meant it figuratively — but I packed up and did it for real.
Color has always been at the heart of my work — vibrant, cinematic, joy-filled — and Palm Springs played a huge part in shaping that. The light, the architecture, the mood of this place totally inspired me early on. I’d come out here with my camera and just let the desert guide me.
Since then, I’ve had the chance to work with brands like Apple, Mercedes-Benz, Pixar, and Michael Kors, but no matter the project, I’m always focused on capturing moments that feel nostalgic, playful, and full of life — like a tiny escape in photo form.

What are your top three passions outside of work?
I’m a big fan of escaping to the great outdoors — national parks, desert drives, anywhere with wide open skies and no cell service. It’s the best way to reset, feel small (in a good way), and just reconnect with what really matters.
I also have a very strong addiction to pop music. Britney Spears is my forever icon, Odesza makes everything feel cinematic, and yes — I know every word to Wicked and I’m not shy about it.
And honestly, some of my favorite moments are the simple ones: cooking with friends, laughing with family, playing board games that get way too competitive. These things are so special and truly recharge me.
What’s one quirky or unexpected thing about you that most people don’t know?
I’m a 4 a.m. kind of guy — coffee in hand, blasting EDM on a spontaneous drive, chasing whatever adventure calls my name. There’s something about breaking out of the routine and watching the sun rise somewhere new that makes me feel truly alive.
If you could design a themed room for our hotel, what theme would you choose and why?
I’d create a pop queen dream room — think Britney’s …Baby One More Time schoolgirl vibes meets Gaga’s Paparazzi – with glam lighting that makes you feel like you’re in a music video. And a Whitney corner for sure — vinyl spinning I Wanna Dance with Somebody on repeat, glitter everywhere (sorry for the mess).
Basically, a mini Pride parade you can have year round. Perfect for anyone wanting to live their best pop star life, even if it’s just for one night.

Why we love Andrew
Andrew’s style is bold but never loud. It’s about joy, not noise. His work invites you in and reminds you not to take life so seriously — something we could all use a little more of. Proud to call him our June Muse.
